How to stop bot to close position when oddss is 1000

Yesterday, my bot 2 times close position after lay with unexpected high stake - I lost stake which can be profitable. How can I improve this bot? It's common Place bet & close position bot. Thank you!

You should shed more light on circumstances at which all that happened. I have to know more about bot output messages. You can switch on saving ouput messages into the log file in application settings.

First I thought it could be some kind of problem when placing bet with stake under minimal betfair stake for Euro, what is 2 Euro. The Bfexplorer PRO in such cases places bet at 1000 odds, when backing, first placing back bet 2@1000 with minimal stake then updating the stake to 2 + your stake, this way you have got two bets, the firt bet is cancelled and remaining one updated to odds you wanted to place your bet.

If any problem occurs during this procedure the original bet should be cancelled. When you look at on stakes the bot placed, it seems that those bets were actually placed as stop loss bets first bet at odds 2,6 with stake 3,73 Euro, and the second bet at odds 5,5 with stake 2 Euro.

So your problem looks quite strange, as stakes suggest the bet was placed as stop loss bet, but odds (1000) suggests that it could be a problem with placing bet under official minimal stake.

    Stefan,

there is the same issue from today.

Unfortunatelly log is missing. I will try tomorrow. It seems to be serious issue. I think that you have right and there is issue with updating bet when I close with stake less than BF minimal stake. Is there any way to improve this? Or I need to use higher stakes to prevent this issue (I expect no updating is needed)?

Martin, you know what strategy you set to your bot, but you did not confirm my questions. So I think you did following:

The bot actually places stop loss bets, and you set the time for closing position close to the time of the official event start, Or this time just by coincidence fall to the moment when market is suspended. You set as well in the system settings the parameter: keep bet at in-play.

Now if happened that bot placed closing bet at the moment when the market was suspended, as the procedure of small bet placing is made from 4 betfair api calls it could happen that it was stopped in error at the moment of the market was suspended.

You did not confirm what version of Bfexplorer PRO you have got. This information is important, actually your bet stakes are over minimal stake of 2 Euro, but if you are using the old version of Bfexplorer PRO which uses 4 Euro as the minimal stake, then of course your bets were placed with this procedure and not by one betfair api command.

Do we understand each other? I simply need more information, and you are the only one you can provide them.

    Hi Stefan,

    sorry for missing information.

    BFE PRO version: 3.0.0.26831

Bot: Place bet a close position via TOLS (10s refresh rate, 1s for BFE in settings)

    Allow placing bet in-play TRUE

At in play keep bet FALSE

    Place at better odds TRUE

Stake is my liability TRUE (12 EUR, lay)

Stop loss on percentage liability 0 (I don't use it)

other time parameters are not used (FALSE) + place bet immediately FALSE

I have set min & max odds and minimum return on investment

Do you need any other information? Hopefully, I will able to provide you bot log as example in next days.
